Santa Cruz Guerilla Drive-In Presents a Double Feature
CRUMB and AMERICAN SPLENDOR
Friday October 10th, 8PM
Sentinel parking lot next to main library
(Always Free!)
Robert Crumb and Harvey Pekar remind us that comic books can be filled with so much more than idolized super heroes and fantasized worlds. Robert Crumb is a tormented man who transcends a harrowing upbringing to produce stunningly original art. Pekar, a perfect everyman, chronicles every minutia of his life in Cleveland for more than 20 years. Location: Sentinel parking lot next to main library
PLUS thrilling and funny short films, an intermission, and great company.
BRING lawn chairs, blankets, pillows, friends, wine, & food to share for intermission. Donations are greatly appreciated and directly support the project. (We are currently saving for a helicopter and a pony.)
SANTA CRUZ GUERILLA DRIVE-IN is an outdoor movie theater under the stars that springs up unexpectedly in the fields and industrial wastelands. Beyond showing great movies and bringing a broad community together, part of our mission is helping reclaim public space and transforming our urban environment into the joyful playground it should be.
URBAN WASTELAND LOCATION: in downtown Santa Cruz, on Church Street next to the main library, across from the old Sentinel building
