Guerilla Drive-In with the REEL WORK FILM FEST
Present:
Cradle Will Rock chronicles the events surrounding the production of Orson Welles' 1937, pro-union operetta. Robbins adapts history to create this drama, commenting on the role of art and power amidst the struggles of the1930's labor movement. Cradle Will Rock connects true events, from Diego Rivera's doomed mural in the Rockefeller Center to the hearings of the House Un-American Activities Committee to the Federal Theater Project, to relive an exciting and dangerous time in American history, when individual courage prevailed against censorship, and artists risked their livelihood by continuing to perform and paint according to conscience.

SANTA CRUZ GUERILLA DRIVE-IN is an outdoor movie theatre under the stars that springs up in the fields and industrial wastelands. Beyond showing great movies and bringing a broad community together, part of our mission is helping reclaim public space and transforming our urban environment into the joyful playground it should be.
Plus thrilling and funny short films, an intermission, great company and a guaranteed good time!
Bring blankets, pillows, anything you need to be comfortable in the great outdoors, friends, snacks to share. Donations to support the project are more than welcome.
