Professional ballroom dancer Scott is dumped by his partner because he won't stick to the standard ballroom steps. With just a few weeks before the Pan-Pacific Grand Prix Dancing Championship, Scott starts rehearsing with seemingly-graceless beginner, Fran. After-hours on the rooftop or in the patio or Fran's family's home, they practice in secret. Scott hopes to turn Fran into a topnotch dancer in time for the competition, but Fran has something to teach him as well. From quirky Australian director Baz Luhrmann, this 1992 romantic comedy is full of wild characters, over-the-top costumes, and impressive dance routines.
