Nostalgia for the Light is a visually stunning documentary that explores the mysterious duality of the Atacama Desert in Chile. While countless astronomers examine the clear desert skies in search of cosmic understanding, the local women sift endlessly through the desert sands for the remains of their family members who disappeared under the Pinochet dictatorship. Both ethereal and grounded, simple and complex, Nostalgia of the Light is a gorgeous homage to the universal human quest for understanding.
